Swelling

2016/7/22 10:10:46

Question
My husband is not a runner, but a carpenter. On his knees running screws into a deck. Directly under the knee cap became swollen with fluid. This went down, but his leg turned yellow and purple and his ankle is now swollen. Slightly sore to touch in some places, but not really painful. If he stays off of it with leg elevated the swelling goes down.  If he gets up a does very much his ankle swells badly. Do you have any explanation?  Does the fluid from the knee work its way down?

Answer
Hi Joyce
I would really need a lot more info to properly comment such as when this started to develop.Things don't happen over night.Based on your description of whats going on i would get to a orthopedic right away before things get ugly. All that swelling and colors is not good.If you want to get back to me after seeing the doctor we can pick it up from here.If you have other questions just get in touch Joyce.

All the best

John
