Question
hi, i started running a few weeks ago every day for about a mile and the front of my lower left leg has started hurting. i read somewhere that it is common to get something called shin splints the thing is i have been stretching and it stops hurting if i take a few days rest, should i keep running every few days instead of doing it eevery day?

Answer
Hi Adam
That can be a normal thing to happen when starting out and they are shin splints. You don't have to stop all together if you don't want to unless they are hurting to much for you.Two things you can do is ice them after you run a lot and start taking 500mg vit c with your 3 meals a day to enhance recovery of tissues, tendons, cells. It is just a weaknest and will clear up in time.Any other questions just get in touch.

All the best

John
