running and BM

Question
My daughter is running her first half marathon in January and is worried that she will have to stop due to the need to have a BM along the way.  This always happens to her when running in general.  We wonder what causes this urge and if there's anything that can postpone the urge until the race is over.

Answer
Hi Holly
It is all in your diet, especially the last two to three days before your race.Be carefull of to much fiber in your diet and what you eat the night before your run.Keep with easy digestible foods. Here is the magic formula for the morning of the race. One and a half hours before the race go for a easy light 20 minute jog and this will clean the blood and digestive system from the light dinner foods the night before. After you get back you  can do your thing and you will feel nice and light.Next have a couple of pieces of toast to take the hunger edge off and you will be set.No breakast..you will be fine.Time permiting i would recomend you do a few experiment mornings with this system to get confortable and build confidence before the race day.If you have any other questions just get in touch holly.

All the best

John
