Question
Hi John,
I just ran the Boston Marathon and I loved it and I want to run again next year. However, some people have told me that running marathons at a young age can be harmful. I am 20 years old and ran Cross Country for 3 years in high school and track for 4 years I have continued to run on my own for my first two years in college. Are there any risks involved if I keep running marathons?

Answer
Caitlin
Your experuience in high school and two years since is find and i don't see any reason to stop. The only thing that is risky is not giving the proper amount time to train properly and not take short cuts.Last thing take a good close look at your diet when you start your preparation for the marathon to make sure you get the propper balance of nutrients.

Keep up the fun times caitlin

The very best to you
John
