Hip Bursitis and Knee Pain: Exploring the Connection

am 64 running 15 to 18 miles per week ~ recovering from right hip bursitis ~ sat in car wed morning for 55 minutes  when i  got out of car right knee very stiff ~~ seemed to be better after 2 days ~ started a run this Sat and after 6 minutes knee started to ache ~ stopped run ,iced knee now feels a little numb and ached all last night  . do you feel knee and bursitis are connected

Yes, they probably are connected. What you describe is generically called anterior knee pain (AKP)/patella femoral pain syndrome (PFPS) with associated movie goer's sign.
