getting started

Question
I just turned 29 two weeks ago and fell in love with running. For awhile I have been taking boxing lessons, and to help me gety in shape and have stanima I began running not to long ago. Now it is all I think about, morning day and night trying to find ways to push myself harder. I am still only just starting, the most I can do before crashing is 3 miles in one setting. Now I have never bought a pair of running shoes, so what brand, style, anything would you suggest, preferably something at an affordable price? Also is there anything I can do besides running on grass to help with my joints and knees. Kind or long winded but thank you for your time.

Answer
Bryan,

As far as shoes, I can't recommend a pair as everyone's foot is different. The best thing to do is go to a running store and get fit properly. As far as price, there are shoes at all levels. STretch after running and ice if there is any tenderness. Obviously soft surfaces are good to run on, however the road won't hurt.
