Cramping on right side

Question
I'm 20 years old and use to run in H/S but I broke my ankle and had to stop. I
have recently joined a program at my fitness club that trains you to run 5km in
8 weeks. We are at 4KM running 4min, walking for 1min. About 3KM in I get this
really bad pain on my right side (where my kidney's are but on the front) I have
no idea what it is and I was just wondering if you would have an idea. I don't
eat anything before I run so I know its not from eating and I drink plenty of
water during the day so I believe I am doing everything right. But the pain gets
so bad it hurts to walk and I feel like I'm going to be sick. I can't even laugh
it hurts so much. I would really like to continue running because I enjoy it. I
was just wondering if you know what it is or anything I can do to minimize this?
PS. I tried breathing in the nose out the mouth quick when it starts to hurt but that doesn't help either
Thanks, Corie

Answer
Hi Corie
You could of pulled a abdominal muscle, but more than likley is weak abs.Since your just getting back into it this is not unusal from time to time.Start a really good ab program and let me know how it works. You could see results very fast.
