Hi John.  Have you ever seen any research on how much the heat affects the heart rate?  I'm more curious than anything.  I sometimes wear a heart rate monitor when I'm running (I don't wear one all of the time, since I don't want to lose the "ability" to just go by feeling perceived effort).  Let's say when it's 75 degrees, my heart rate is 130 bpm when running a 10:00 min/mile, any idea what my heart rate might be running the same pace if the temperature was in the lower 50s (my favorite temperature for running)?

Thanks John!
David

Answer -
Hi David
The heart rate level's are going to vary from from one indivdual to another. There is also many other things that effect the heart rate besides heat even in 50's.Thats really all you can focus on.Keep using that perceived effort. That is the best barometer.Your daily life will effect the high and low all the time.Hope this helps David.

Best to you

John

Answer
Hi David
Thanks for the article it was interesting, but means nothing. As i said there is many things that effect your heart.Just stick with perceived effort and stay away from heart monitor.Running is very simple, and all the promoters are trying to force feed everybody with all these crazy products,gu's waters, and i could go on and on.JUST GO RUN and enjoy it.Follow the money.

The very best

John
