hi
i would like to take up running in a club but i dont seem to be any good at running. i walk daily and go to the gym often where i usually use the cross trainer. when i do go on a treadmill i get tired very fast. i can only do about 2mins at speed of 10.3 , should i work my way up and am i doing it wrong? and how can i get better as soon as possible(is there a secret)? thanks for your help

Hi Asks:

There is absolutely no secret to working out to look super great.  Look at my daughter of 45 years on my site on the family page.  She does Power Walking 4 mile a day 7 days a week, then she walks up hill on her treadmill half hour as she has no hills to Power Walk on in her community.
Then she does some weights to tone.  I think her arms are too thin, but she says they are busy working arms and with having had years back 5 kids they always have been, she has 4 at home now in college, working etc.
She is a size 5.
Now, try some Power Walking hold weights if u do not want to lift, swing your arms hard, head up look ahead, take as large of steps as fast as u can and work up to a goal you set for yourself.
This will build good lungs that can fill with lots of air, strong heart, good for the body, soul and mind.  I feel Power Walking is now the thing, at least in Pa state it has taken over alot of running, jogging, etc.
Try it for a month, then come back and tell me how your doing how far your going and how u feel then.

I think it is fun for you get out and see things, machines are boring no matter how many u use, and jogging and running are hard on the knees, back, etc.
