Dear Les,

The American Alpine Club is looking into your medal.  I received a note from them this morning.  They are intrigued by the puzzle, too.  They gave me no time frame for sending information they might discover, though they will likely post it on their website.  They intend to post your picture of the medal and solicit membership responses.  I contacted the British Mountaineering Council last week, but I haven't heard back from anyone.  I'll poke them again if they don't write this week.  I have friends in the UK who will help.
