Question
I'm a 6'-1", 177 lb high school freshman, and my 1000 meter time is 3:29. Is this a decent score at the prep school level? And if not, where should I aim for?

Answer
Hi Connor: Here are the 1000M rankings from the Concept II Database for 14-15 year-old heavyweights:

Average Time: 3:46.7

PERCENTILES
90th   75th   50th   25th
3:15.0 3:26.4 3:41.9 3:55.7

As you can see, you are well above average.  The only thing I would add is that a 2K piece is the more traditional standard for which erg times are compared to.

Good Luck/AP
