yoke valve

Question
What is the maximum tank pressure one should use when a yoke style valve is being used for recreational diving? Is it true that HP steel tanks should always be used with with a DIN setup and never fitted with a yoke valve?

Answer
Mark,

Max pressure for a yoke valve is 232 bar (3300 psi).  The common SCUBA DIN valve is rated to 300 bar (4300 psi).  Any cylinder, steel or aluminum, should always be used with the appropriately rated valve and regulator connector, yoke or DIN.

There is a good explanation of valves and connectors available on Wikipedia:

Hope this helps,
