J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Crackshot .22 Long Rifle

Question
My father has the following gun and would like to know when it was made (an approximate value of it would also be nice to know).
This is the information on the gun:
*crack-shot* J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co.
Chicopee Falls. Mass. U.S.A. * 22 Long Rifle*
A777
It has rifles, very little rust, and very little light scratches in the wood. It has a 20" barrel and is 34" overall.
It has the straight stock with no pistol grip. It used to be called a "Saddle Rifle Stock".
Thank you in advance for any information you can give us on it.

Answer
Hello Christal.
Your rifle is a No.16 Side Lever Crackshot Boys Rifle manufactured from 1900 through 1913. In the condition you describe, The Blue Book of Gun Values by Fjasted gives an approximate value of $150.00. I have seen them actually sell from $80 to over $200.
I hope this answers your questions and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
