Blow-back with at Springfield Arms Model 50 .22LR

Question
When I shoot this small single-shot rifle I get a gust of blow-back .  I assume that's not a good thing.  What advice can you offer regarding safety; what risk does this pose?
Thank you

Answer
Hello Henry,

I am assuming you mean blow back in the form of gases or hot air/debris from the gun? Either way, your assessment is correct.. something is wrong! Many things could happen including death or blindness. I would carry the firearm in question to a qualified gunsmith and have him check it over before firing it again!
