2016/7/22 9:07:07

Question
HAVE A HAWES WESTERN SIXSHOOTER THAT I BOUGHT 50? YEARS AGO.THE
BLUEING IS SHOT. WAS TOLD IT CAN NOT BE DONE AS IT IS PRIMARLEY POT
METAL.IT CAN'T BE BLACK OXIDED OR ANODIZED EITHER.A FRIEND OF MINE
SAID TO REMOVE THE REMAINING BLUEING AND SPRAY PAINT IT WITH HIGH
HEAT "B.B.Q.'' PAINT THEN POT IT IN THE OVEN AT 200 DEGREES FOR TWO
HOURS.PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE..... WHAT AM I TO DO?  THANKS, ERNIE

Answer
Not sure I agree with that. Depending on bad you want it done right and how much you want to spend, lots of guys do professional bluing. You can clean it and get some cold bluing and do it that way or if you don't care and want to try the BBQ way, what do you have to lose?

sorry can't be more help.
