Question
western style six shooter 45 magnum . what is the significance of the ser # ending in 4/4. firearm purched in mid sixties
thank you Robert

Answer
Hello Robert. I feel you may have meant 44 magnum in your description. Now, about your question. As far as research I have done on these S&S revolvers, the "/" can come after the first number(1/88...) or before the last number( ...4/4 )as in your case. If there is any reference to it, J.P. Sauer & Sohn has not made any comment about it that I am aware of. If there is relevance in the "/", I hope you find it. Wish I could have been more help.Thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
