Question
Hi Bob,I'm having a heck of a time trying to find out what year my shotgun was manufactured, and I hope you can help.I have a Cooey single shot break action 20Ga.It is stamped on one side,(Cooey Model 84 Made in Canada.)On the other side it's stamped,(H.W. Cooey Machine and Arms Co LTD.  Made in Cobourg, serial # 50607.) The barrel is stamped the same. The butt is stamped 0607.Thanks for taking the time to try and help!

Answer
Hi Ian.

I am not personally familiar with this brand but I found some info which should help you.  Check out the following links:

If this isn't what you are looking for then you could try calling Olin / Winchester since they took over the Cooey name and might have some of the older historical records on file:

Winchester Ammunition/Olin Corp.
427 N Shamrock St.
East Alton,  Illinois 62024-1174
Phone: 618-258-3529
Fax: 618-258-3609

Hope this helps.

Bob
