Question
I have my fathers Baker Shotgun ,double barrel 12 gauge Damascus barrels. Serial # 1957. Appreciate any information regarding this weapon, ie: age, when and where manufactured etc:Hunting scenes engraved on gun are of some type of setter pointing Serial numbers are all the same on trigger housing ,barrels and wood block numbers

Answer
Hello Seneca. You haven't given many details about your fathers Baker. Being damascus barrels,it may have been manufactured between 1878-1883 by William H. and Ellis L. Baker in Syracuse,NY. The scrolling and game scene, along with fancy wood, would make it a "R" series. This firearm can have a very high value, so I suggest you have it appraised by a professional appraisal service. I hope this helps and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
