rimfire ammo

2016/7/22 9:16:28

Question
Doug can you tell me if the new Barnes 22cal. ammo can be fired through  my older model 1022 rifle.
Thank you for any info you can supply.

Doug

Answer
Doug,

The Barnes "22 caliber" bullets are actually .224 in diameter and are designed to shoot in centerfire cartridges.  It is kind of like the fact that an M-16 uses .223 caliber bullets, but again in a centerfire cartridges.

Your rimfire .22 caliber won't work with this type of ammunition.

Hope this helps.
