Question
Hi, my name is Jonathan.
I just bought a Springfield Model 15 bolt action rifle at an auction. It has alot of wear and tear (which kinda makes it look pretty nice). I'm trying to find out how old it is. I recovered the patent numbers. They are 2173576, 2223092, and 2230372. It is a Savage Arms built. (unfortunatley not a stevens)
It is a 22. cal short, long, or long rifle. Could you please tell me how old it is and how you found out.
Thanks

Answer
Hello Jonathan. Why do you say your Model 15 is Savage Arms built? One source states it as Stevens/Springfield Model 15/120. It was also manufactured between 1937 and 1971. Just goggle Savage/Stevens/Springfield Model 15/120 and you will get loads of information on your gun. There are also patent search sites you can find to locate your patent numbers. I hope you will try this and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
