Browning Hi-Power

2016/7/22 9:10:22

Question
Doug,
Just bought a Browning Hi Power from my local pawn shop in really good condition. I have read websites and can't find its manufactor date. Serial #T290364 Website says should have numbers before the T but its not on the gun, and I dont have any other paperwork to find out the year made.  Any suggestions

Thanks

Brian

Answer
Brian,

The Browning Hi Power was manufactured by FN in Belgium.  According to my information, the serial number you reference would have been produced in late 1969 or early 1970 before the serialization switched over to the two number, then letter, then number format.  That's about as close as I can get.

Hope this helps,

Doug Little
