Question
Savage Arms Corp. Sterlingworth   Serial#126007

I'm interested in the year it was manufactured.  Also, were these shotguns stamped or marked indicating the model or grade and where do I look for them?

Thank you

Answer
Hello Robert Richards. Your Savage Arms Corp. (previously A.H.Fox Company) Sterlingworth S# 126007 is dated as manufactured in 1929. The ser# 126007 is for a 12 gauge with a 26",28" or 30" barrel. Boxlock, extractors, double triggers(single trigger optional) and checkered pistol grip stock. The Model is "Sterlingworth" and was made in two other styles beside the one I just described. They are the "Sterlingworth Deluxe" with recoil pad and Ivory bead front sight. The barrel length up to 32". Double triggers only. And the "Sterlingworth Skeet" with 26" or 28" barrels. It had a straight grip stock. The "Skeet Model" is very scarce and extremely rare. It can only be evaluated by a well documented appraisal company. I hope I have answered your questions and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
