what can you tell about this gun.about what it is worth,if the fg in the ser# has any meaning.can you get ammo for it

Hello Victor. You definitely have a French 7.5x54 caliber military rifle. I went on Google to retrieve some information and was very delighted with the number of different models of this rifle that have been pictured for easier identification. I must send you there since there are so many little differences in manufacture. I have owned one of these in the past, but cannot remember all the markings.
