Browning 22-250 made in Finland

2016/7/22 9:14:02

Question
My dad just gave me this Browning 22-250 and i was just trying to find out a little information about it.  The serial# is 5665Z6.  I was wondering what model this gun is and if there are different grades, i would like to know that too.  I read an earlier post and i beleive someone said this gun was made in 1969, because it has a z in the serial number; is that correct?  Thank you for you help,
Alan

Answer
Alan,

You have a Browning Safari Grade made in 1966 as evident by the 6 after the z in the serial number. The z tells you it is the medium sako action made in Finland for Browning.  The Safari Grade is considered the standard grade followed by the Medallion and then Olympian grade. Hope this helps.
