im interested in attending nessesary coarses and ability to optain my own equipmentcan you help???dave

Answer
Hi Dave.

There are many firearms courses available.  Categories include gun safety, basic marksmanship skills, personal defense, reloading, range safety, carry permit, etc.  Classes are usually offered by many places including gun clubs, shooting ranges, large gun stores, boy scouts, state agencies such as hunter safety and wildlife departments, and private instructors.  You might be able to find a class in your area by searching the NRA website at the following link:

http://www.nrahq.org/education/training/find.asp

You can also use Google to find other classes in your area.  Here is a search link that you just need to add your city name to and it might find something for you:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=gun+class

If you are just starting out then I recommend taking the basic classes offered by the NRA first, such as Basic Pistol.  Then you can take a carry permit or self defense class next if you plan to use the gun for defense.  Ask your local gun store or gun club and they will most likely be able to recommend some good private instructors in your area.

Hope this helps.  If you need more specific info then please ask a more detailed question.
