Question
I recently aquired a J Stevens arms & tool CO. db barrel model 235. All I Know is my dads great great grandfathers dad bought this shot gun new. Question is its age, if it is anything special (other than an heirloom) and it needs a left and and right sccrew for the hammers any help with the screws would be great too.

Answer
Bryan,

It is definitely a great heirloom if nothing else based upon its history.

The J. Stevens Co. produced many utility grade side by side double barrel shotguns from 1877 all the way up to 1988. The 235 was made between  1912 and the early 1930's. There were approximately 90,000 made and have relatively low retail value for a SXS shotgun.

The 235 if in "good" condition has an approximate retail value of $350.

As for the parts, I suggest that you try Numrich Gun Parts Co. to view their site go to www.e-gunparts.com If they cannot help you maybe they can direct you to another location that can.

Good luck and thanks for the question.
