Question
Which barrel/trigger is going to be the tighter choke on a standard factory gun? Am I correct to assume that one barrel is modified (closer range)and one full (for longer shots)? Thanks for any light you can shed on this for me.

Answer
Paul,

To be certain as to what chokes your double barrel has I can only recommend that you deliver it to a qualified gunsmith for inspection. He/she will be able to mic the inside of the barrels and advise you of what choke they are.

I can tell you that the majority of the doubles that I've seen are Mod/Imp or Mod/Cyl. HOWEVER....... this is not etched in stone either. I've also seen them bored Full/Full but those are "usually" on the 30" versions.

The second most common combo that I've run into is Mod/Full. I cannot however tell you any of this for certain concerning your gun. Trying to do so without benefit of being able to inspect it is a crap-shoot. Again..... to be certain let a gunsmith inspect/mic the barrels for you.
