Question
I have a vintage 22.7 1/2 caliber rifle with a serial # of X 191.  Manufacturer is Stevens Arms & Tool Co. of Chikapee Falls, Mass. I find all kinds of other 22 models in abundance. Was this a special order model? Is the value, because of the caliber's rare essence, going to be more than the others. Please help with any info on the rifle. Been looking on the net for days to keep lost in circles. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Sorry this one beats me.
Early Stevens .22 caliber rifles did not have serial numbers.  I would suggest you find a expirenced (over 20 years) local gunsmith and see if he can ID it.
Have him look at it in person.
Caliber likily is .22 Long Rifle and model number 7 1/2.
Sorry I can't help more.
