Iver side latch

Question
I recently bought an Iver Johnson .38 S&W, shortly after I received it the side latch fell out. There is  very small screw holding a little lever with what looks like a piece of what used to be a leaf spring set into it. I would like to replace the spring and see if I can make this nice little revolver work again, but I'm not sure exactly how the original spring was supposed to work. if it was just a main spring or something like that it would be easy, but I'm having a hard time guessing how this one is supposed to fit. Do you have any idea where i could find a such a part? Even a picture of one would probably be enough for me to fabricate something that will work, but I can't even find that anywhere!
Thank you so much for your time!

Answer
Hello David.
I have a book by W. Goforth that shows many schematics for Iver Johnson firearms, especially revolvers. I may be able to find one of yours. I will need you to follow-up with everything that is written on your revolver, including where it is written (top of barrel, side of barrel, frame, bottom of trigger guard, under grip, on bottom of grip frame, etc.). Do your best to read anything that is warn, or just put a ? where you are not sure of a character. Include a picture.
