Shotgun

Question
I have an older single shot shotgun that is engraved "New York Arms Co".  I am wondering about its history and whether it has much value.  My research indicates a relationship with Crescent Arms and/or H & D Folsom, but cannot find anything more.  Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank You.

  Yes, your New York Arms Co. shotgun was manufactured by either Folsom or Crescent sometime between 1888-1930. If it was manufactured by Crescent Arms Co., it will have the gauge as 12 before a diamond with a G inside. Most say 'Genuine Armory Steel' and 'Choke Bored' on the barrel. Since it was among over a hundred 'hardware store' guns (guns that were made with different hardware or other retail stores names stamped on them), it is almost impossible to put an accurate date on it. It was made for the Garnet Carter Company , Chattanooga, Tennessee. May have been the same Garnet Carter who invented Miniature Golf in the early 20th century (speculation, of course). As a value, although being a fairly good manufactured firearm, prices are close to $100 in most markets.
