I have a New Haven .410 Model 283TA. Chambered for 3" shells.
My question is can I shoot 2 3/4 shells and slugs? As I am 75, this baby is light and won't wear me down all day.

Yes, a .410 bore shotgun chambered for 3" cartridges can also fire shorter cartridges.  The two lengths available are 3 inches and 2 1/2 inches.  I don't think there is such a thing as a 2 3/4 inch long .410 bore shotgun cartridge.
