Question
Would like to get some information on a side-by-side shotgun manufactured by Hopkins and Allen MFG Co, Norwich, CT.
All parts are in good condition and no rust and appear to be
well taken care of.
Is the weapon safe to shoot and what is intrinsic value?

Answer
Hi,
You gun was made after the 1901 merger between Hopkins and Allen and Forehand Arms Company.
In terms of if it safe to shoot, as long as does NOT damascus twist steel barrels (not real likily)
and you chamber length is 2 3/4inch (it could be shorter) with standard ammo 1165 feet per second it should be safe.
It needs to be looked at in person by a gunsmith.
Its worth $100 to $1000 depending on grade and condition.
