Berretta shotgun

Question
We have a Berretta shotgun our Grandfather gave to us 32 years ago and we can't find out anything about it. it's made by Beretta and it does not have a model #, but it says Golden Lark on it. What can you tell us about it?

Answer
Hello Marcy. You have a simi-automatic shotgun that was possibly imported by Beretta between 1960 and 1965.I have not been able to find this model Golden Lark in any direct imports from Italy to the USA, but I have seen a few online that actually do say Golden Lark. The ones listed in dealers, auction house and research publications such as BlueBook of Gun Values by Fjestad are all "Gold Lark".As I said, I have seen the Golden Lark model online. It is possible that it was manufactured for another market overseas, or it may have been produced by one of the many companies that imported their firearms through Berretta in the 50's and 60's to clear out their warehouses. The Berretta shotguns do not bring the dollars in the 4 figures due to these import arrangements, but they do command high 3 digit figures which is well spoken of for an import. I hope this helps answer your question and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
