Answer If you didn't care how long it took it die, a head or heart-lung shot from a .22 Magnum would kill a Coyote. If you wanted to kill it cleanly, something like a .223 with Hornady V-Max would be a place to start. Anything up to .270 would be suitable - beyond that, anything would work but would be overkill.
