Browning Safari .270: Age, Value & Collector Interest

Question
I have a Belgium made Browning in .270. Serial # 2L 16643 with a 2.5 to 8 Bausch and Lomb scope on Buehler rings. It is in outstanding condition and has only been fired a few times. Can you tell me age and value? Is there a collector's market for these guns? Thanks

Answer
Joe,

There is a market for the Safari Grades. Typically, the more rare calibers bring a higher price. The .270 was a fairly common caliber, but if the gun is near 100% condition, no pad, completely original it will help some.
Your rifle was made in 1962 as evident by the 2 before the L in the serial number.

I can help evaluate your rifle a little more if you could send several good photos of the rifle. If you would like, send them to jrreeves@prodigy.net and I will try to give you a better estimate.

Jim
