Using .22LR in a .22 Magnum Firearm: Safety & Compatibility
Question
Can I use .22LR in my Mossberg .22 Mag?
Answer
Hi Kevin.
In most .22 magnum firearms you can use .22 LR safely however this isn't true for all firearms. Semi-automatic rifles might not like the shorter cartridges, some revolvers have a separate cylinder for .22 LR, and in a number of firearms the chambers or barrels will get dirty faster when you shoot the .22 LR since the bullet doesn't stick as far forward. To be sure you need to check your owner's manual, contact Mossberg, or ask a local gun dealer or gun club.
Good luck.
