Savage Model 101: History, Specs & Value
Question
I have a Savage model 101. I would like to find out more about it's history. I found it to be interesting but I don't know anything about it.
Answer
Ben,
The M-101 was manufactured from 1960 to 1968 by Savage of Chicopee Falls or Westfield, Mass. It is a single shot .22 made to look like a revolver. It came with a blued finish and hardwood grips. The cylinder/barrel swing out to load however there is no actual rotation of the cylinder.
The 101 in "good" condition has an approximate retail value of $125.
