I Cant Ollie Straight

Question
Hi Max, I hope you can help me with this problem I have that I can't figure out.  I can ollie an ok height for a beginner, about a deck.  My problem is: when im ollieing, my board goes about 4 or 5 inches off to my right (im goofy stanced).  I'm not sure why though, I'm pretty sure I'm jumping straight and my footing is correct.  I think it might be that i'm kicking my foot at the top of the board I'm not too sure though.  Can you give me any advice please?

Answer
Hi Ronald! I had the exact same problem when I was beginning to ollie decent. The problem is that you're body is trying to make the ollie higher to clear whatever is under it, posing a threat, and your natural reaction could be to turn itself, to get out of harm's way in whatever way it can. Your shoulders are turning! Just concentrate every valiant effort on staying DIRECTLY OVER THE BOARD, SON! I'LL SLAP YOUR JAW! Ok? Go out and try that, and if it dosen't work, I don't exist!
