arch problems

Question
Hi,
whenever I am in my inline skates for very long (more then 45 minutes) the blood tends to pool in my arches and I get
blisters. nothing really hurts aside from the blister aspects.
what could be causing this?  I have tried several different models and a couple brands. all high end stuff from K2 and salomon. I can put on ice skates and be fine for hours on end. but inline ones arent so good.

thanks

steve

Answer
Hi Steve,
Ouch.....I'm sorry to hear about your inlines causing you trouble.

I can't say for sure but the only thing different between ice boots and inline boots are the way they are tightened at your ankles.  Ice boots lace up and tend to give or stretch when you bend.  Inlines have that locking mechanism to snug it up around your ankles and does not give or stretch when you bend to push.

I would say you may have the inlines snugged up to tightly, causing the liner to wrinkle against your skin and every time you bend to push it presses and squeezes the skin around your ankles, resulting in blisters.

Also make sure your socks are pulled up straight so they aren't wrinkled around your lower leg too.

Try skating with your inlines a little looser from the ankle up and also try placing some kind of foam padding around the area that gives you trouble.  Put the padding inside your sock so it won't slip around and give you more trouble.  Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

Good Luck I hope it works.  If you need anything else, feel free to write again.
