Question
Lezly how are you? I want to know where to buy roller skates (quads) in NYC for women and what should I look for in a skate.
Thanks a lot
Felipe

Answer
Hi Felipe,
Odd that you should pick the only person that sells Quads (that are not junk) in the NYC area to ask this question. My number is 212 777-3232 call for an appointment to be fitted.
Here is the  way I work:
I don't have skates for you to try  on - I carry no stock. I measure her, we talk about her budget, what kind of skating she will be doing - indoor, outdoor, for exercise, dancing on skates - whatever her needs are. Some people know what boot, plate, wheels & bearings they want & they come to me because my prices are the  best. Others have a budget & I get them the best skate they can get for that budget. When she places her order she puts down 50% - the skates arrive in about 3 business days & she pays the balance when her skates come in. The name of the game is, there is a skate out there for you & I can get what you need for the price you can afford. I do have catalogs you can refer to & you have the advice & input of someone who has been teaching & selling skates since 1979.
If you don't come to me. Look for a skate with a strong arch counter, heel box & toe box. Make sure her toe is not jammed into the front of the boot - fit is of prime importance! If it's a skate under $200.00 you won't be able to select the plate (the metal or plastic device under the boot that holds the wheels) it will be part of the pkg. $200 & up you can custom the package & select the  boot, the plate, the wheels & the bearings.I do recommend a precision Plate (Suregrip Super X & up),a good outdoor wheel like Kryptos will go either outdoor or indoor. An indoor wheel should not go outdoors. Bearings should be rated ABEC 3 or 5 - steer clear of ABEC 1 or 7 & up.
I will beat any price, so give me a call for best prices & my 27 years of expeience. You can also email me at:
[email protected]. I'll be pleased to help either to sell her a skate or give her recommendations.
Roll On!.........Lezly (Lezly Skate School - NYC)
