One foot infront of another...?

Question
Hi, I've been roller blading with my friends for a short time... and whenever we go to the beach, we'd always see people going pretty fast always with one foot infront of the other...I would like to know what is the purpose of this, and how to do it, since i've tried it but only ended up slipping because of the back wheel being too bulky -_-

Answer
Hi Kent,
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by having one foot in front of the other.   If they are not pushing, then they have just build up their speed enough to where they can coast like that.

If they're pushing rather than coasting they might be crossing their feet?

Send me another note back and explain a little further, ok?   Like, when do they do this.  Are the curving or going straight.  Are they pushing when you see it or are they just coasting.   That will help me better understand what you're seeing.

Just for the record.....if you want to put one foot in front of the other you have to bend both knees quite a bit and keep the weight even on both skates.  Otherwise, like you said, the back wheel is to big and will trip you or if the weight isn't evenly distributed one skate could slip.

If I haven't answered your question, write me back, ok?

Thanks
Pat
