comparison of skates

Question
Hi!  If you actually take the time to read this and respond, THANK YOU!

I know basically nothing about skates, but I just bought some on ebay -- Pacer 429's described as "WHITE LEATHER LINED ROLLER SKATES WITH HI/LOW SERIES PLATES AND BLACK CROSS FIRE WHEELS WITH ALUMINUM HUBS WHEELS, PRECISION BEARINGS."

However, they had them listed as a women's 8 and they're actually men's 8.  As such, they offered me Pacer 429 Resistor's "WHITE LEATHER LINED ROLLER SKATES WITH RESISTOR TORQUE SERIES PLATES AND RED 62MM RAGE WHEELS ABEC 1 PRECISION BEARINGS."

Are the Pacer 429 Resistor's as good, if not better, than the Pacer 429's?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Answer
Tracey,
As far as I know the Pacer 429 is the only 429 Pacer makes. I believe the Resistor refers to the plate - not the boot. However check your stats - they tell you what you want to know. They are both listed as leather lined white (Men's) boots. That tells me they are the  same boot. Leather lined means a vinyl boot with leather lining - no difference in the quality. It is not a very good boot - vinyl doesn't breath & the boot offers little support. As for the size - if you are a ladies 8 you should order a 7 - they don't make a ladies boot for some reason, or they don't call it a womans boot at any rate - though the black boot is made to fit sizes 1-12 & the white boot 1-10 for whatever that's worth.
The hi/low series plate means nothing to me but the Resistor Torque plate is on par with the boot as are the Rage wheels. ABEC 1 pecision bearings are one step above terrible. I hope you got an excellent price on them. The Carrera is in the same category of skate & in that same price range & would have been a much better choice.
All that said - any skate you buy will give you fun & exercise - enjoy them! Best of luck to you.
