Pain while blading

Question
Hello,
I have been skating on an off for a few months.  The problem I have is that when I am skating I experiance a lot of pain in the middle of my feet.  Right in the arch of my foot.  I have size 13 blades and I don't have very "wide" feet.  Could that be part of the problem?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Answer
Hi Jeremy,
I can be positive but I would say that your blades don't have the same quality arch support that your street shoes have.  This will stress out your arch and cause pain.  Average blades don't have any kind of arch support so you may want to consider some kind of insert to build up the arch area.  Dr Scholl's sells arch supports or you might want to go to a foot Dr and have one custom made.

I suppose it could be possible that it's the other way around where your blades have a better arch support than your shoes, but usually that's not the case unless you have very expensive blades.

Hope this helps a little.  If you need anything further, just let me know.

    Pat
