Answer
Hey Phil,

The toe is usually fixed. If you can't adjust it far enough with the heel, then the bindings will need to be removed and repositioned.

But here is something you should know and understand. Manufacturers will warranty bindings for only so long. When that time is over, binding models go on to an 'Indemnification List'. Basically this means that once a binding is on the list, the manufacturer is no longer liable for any problems with the binding. This also has an effect on any dealer or shop that works on bindings. If a dealer or shop works on a binding that is on the list, THEY can be held liable for any problems that may occur with the binding, not the manufacturer. Most shops keep a current list and will not work on any bindings that are on the list.

Here is a link to the current list;  http://www.nssra.com/2001/nssra/index.asp?centre=article&recno=2651

So, if your customers' bindings are on the list, you now have a legal reason to not work on the bindings. If they are on the list, you can explain what it means, why you can't work on them, and why they should upgrade to a newer binding.

Hope this helps.
Keep on skiing,
