marker 1200 bindings

Question
I have just purchased a pair of used k2  seth vicious skis the previous owner has mounted marker 1200 bindings with the "power piston" board and I am wondering if these binding are a good choice for the ski I am 120 pounds and expect these skis to perform on everything on and way off piste the bindings I would consider replacing them with are marker barons

Answer
Hey Miles,

Your K2's are a very highly rated all mountain ski and the Marker 1200's should be a good match for the ski. In my humble opinion, the only reason to change to the Barons would be if you are planning to do some back country hiking. The Barons are an AT binding that has good reviews for being light weight in the alpine mode but switching to climbing/skinning mode and back has some owners griping a bit. So, consider whether your off piste will include climbing and if not, stick with 1200's and save your money for lift tickets and gas.

Hope this helps.
Keep on skiing,
