Free Curtis Hawk

Question
My neighbor gave me an old windsurfer that has been hanging in his garage for a while.  It is a Curtis Hawk, he has had it for ten years or more and didn't know how old it was.  It is missing the base of the mast, which I can imagine is easy to find.  Otherwise the sail and rigging look good, and the board does not show any signs of wear other than some yellowing of the plastic.  The tailfin (is this what they call the "dagger") and main center fin are both intact and in good condition.  I've never tried windsurfing and am curious to take this out on the water.  Is the mast base made of unobtanium, or is there some place to get them?  Worse comes to worse I can use it as a SUP board, but Id like to try the sail if possible.
Thanks

Answer
Hey Tyler,

If your board has a standard type mast track, then a mast base will be easy to get. A standard mast track will be a slot about 14 inches long. If there are only two holes in the top of the board, then, you have a problem. That type would be a manufacturer specific type of mast base and nearly impossible to find.

For a standard mast track mast base, go here;

The tail fin is just called a fin. The center board is the 'daggerboard'. It is good that it is there as those are very difficult to replace also.

Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
