Question
HI I'm a level 3 windsurfer and just want to ask what equipment would you recommend that I purchase or should I wait until I get further experience at the school, is it better to wait to I get to a level 4 or what thats all.
Thanks  Kathleen

Answer
I would buy a board in the 140 litre range to start. It will be easy to progress on and you will always want to use it for lighter winds.  I recently purchased a Gun Thunder 2005 model.  It is  140Litres and I am using to teach my son who is 12 years old how to windsurf.  I use it in winds between 10 and 14 mph and it is a lot of fun to sail.  I weigh about 140 lbs. so it is a light wind board for me.  I use it with 6 to 7 meter sails.  It planes very easily is very stable and with the right sail you will use this board forever. When you get more proficient you will want to sail in stronger winds and go faster. You can then purchase a smaller board in the 110 to 120 liter range and for even more extreme sailing in 25+ mph you might want to go with a 80 litre board eventually.  But for now I would not put off buying a board expecially if you can get a good deal now that the season is at its end (assuming you are in the northern hemisphere).  Good luck and good wind.
