Windsurf boards

Question
I have a couple Mistral windsurf boards, older models, how do I find out how much they are worth?

Answer
Hey Cheryl,

There are many factors that affect the value of older boards. The main ones are your location and how many sailors are in your area. Also the condition of the boards is a large factor. Do you have all the parts? Do they take standard mast bases or have a board specific base?

The best way to determine current value would be to try and find similar boards on your local craigslist and ebay. Compare what is available to your gear and you can get a price range. Older gear usually doesn't hold a lot of resale value. Be careful not to ask too much or you won't sell. I see gear reposted many times because the seller just doesn't want to come down on their price. The bottom line is what the buyer is willing to pay and the seller willing to accept.

I could maybe give you a resale value range. I would need to see a picture of the boards along with a good description of the condition, models, and any items going with the boards, ie; fins, bases, footstraps, etc.

Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
