wind knots

Question
I have a 95 litre board a 5.5 sail how much wind would i need to sail here we get at leat 8-10 knots almost daily is that goog enough wind?

Hey Vladimir,

Depending upon your size and sailing ability, you probably need more wind for that board and sail size. You probably would need about 15-18kts. If you are under 120lbs, you may be able to sail that board and sail in 8-10kts but you probably wouldn't get on a plane.

If 8-10kts is your normal wind range, you probably should consider getting a 120-130ltr board and 7.0-9.0 sail. Keep your smaller gear for when the wind is up higher.
