Older boards - still ok?

Question
Hi there,
I used to be quite keen on windsurfing quite a few years (some ten years) ago. I still have a Mistral Explosion and a Mistral Edge. How do these boards compare now a days? Should I sell them and get a Mistral Screamer 115 or something of the sort? Is it be worth it?

If I were to sell the boards, would they be worth anything any more?

I'm about 84 kg and 176 high..

Thanks! Jugi

Answer
If you are thinking about getting back into it, those boards are great boards.  You should probably recommission your old boards and upgrade your sails and possibly your booms and masts.  I don't think you will get much if you sell them.  People buying used boards are usually looking for 2 or 3 year old equipment.  I have a board I bought 15 years ago that I still love to sail. It is a 125 liter board that I use in moderate wind.  I bought a light wind board 2 years ago (140 Liter) and a used Sailworks sail (6.7 mtr) to extend my sailing range. Of course this all depends on how much expendable income you have.  If you can afford it, by all means go for the newer board but don't expect to get much for 10 year old equipment.
